Renting out one's shop to a client who will use it to sell/download movies, music etc.

I have a shop that I am trying to rent out. Currently, there is a client who is interested in renting the shop to sell movies, music etc.. Will it be permissible for me to rent out my shop to him knowing that he is renting it to do something unlawful?

الجوابُ حامِدا ًو مُصلیِّا ً

Since the things mentioned in the question (i.e. selling music, movies etc.) are all unlawful, then renting out the shop to this client would be assisting him in his sinful actions. For this reason, the questioner should refrain from renting out his shop to the client for this purpose.

و في الدر المختار: (لا تصح الإجارة لعسب التيس) وهو نزوه على الإناث (و) لا (لأجل المعاصي مثل الغناء والنوح والملاهي) ولو أخذ بلا شرط يباح اھ (6/ 55) والله اعلم بالصواب
