Non-Muslims sacrifice animals in the name of their deities, in which they often sever the animal's head in a single blow. If a Muslim butcher is hired and paid to carry out the slaughter of such an animal, and he performs the task, will the payment received by the Muslim butcher be considered lawful (halal) or not? Kindly provide guidance in light of Islamic law.
If a Muslim butcher is hired to slaughter animals that are being sacrificed in the name of non-Muslim deities or gods, and he performs the slaughter and receives payment for it, then although it may be technically permissible for the butcher to use that payment, it is still disliked (makrooh) for a Muslim to sever the head of an animal completely in one blow, or to slaughter animals on behalf of non-Muslims in the name of their gods or deities. Therefore, such actions must be avoided.
