Can my father perform Haj e Badal for my mother?

My father has done Haj. My mother died this year. Can my father perform Haj e Badal for my mother? Please inform with details.

الجوابُ حامِدا ًو مُصلیِّا ً

If the applicant mother has not made a last will وصیت to perform Haj e Badl حج بدل on her behalf, or a Vasiyah is made but her inheritance does not suffice to fulfill her wish then it is not incumbent upon the inheritors to perform Haj on her behalf. However if any heir on his own wish wishes to perform Haj e Badl to bestow it’s reward for any deceased, it is permissible in Shari’a and the Benevolent Rab would accept it and bestow it’s Sawab to the late mother.
