According to Islam, is marriage allowed only to fulfill physical desires, or the main purpose of marriage is to preserve a family and increase in progeny? Please explain

It should be clear that in Islam, marriage has been given the status of worship, and it is the Sunnah of the Prophets, and the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) in a blessed Hadith has also expressed his abandonment to those who deviate from this Sunnah. Therefore, ignoring the basic objectives of a major Sunnah (such as attaining piety, following the life pattern of the prophet, increasing the progeny etc) considering it as a means to merely fulfill a physical desire is absolutely wrong and is an evidence of ignorance of the rules of the Holy Shari’a.
