Is it permissible or not to give cow in Qurban in India?

الاستفتاء

Assalamu Alaikum Is it permissible or not to give cow in Qurban in India? And who was Ahmed Raza Barelvi? What do the Ulama say? Must reply.

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

It is undoubtedly correct and permissible to make Qurbani of cows in India, however, in a given area if Hindus are in majority and there remains a risk of disputes, quarrels, mischief and violence etc., it is preferable and best to make Qurbani of goat, sheep etc..
As for Ahmed Reza Khan, he is connected to Rae Bareli of India and is the founder and the leader of the famous innovative Sect, Barelviat. Perusing the following books would be of assistance in gaining further information about him.
