(1) Nowadays, since one tola of gold costs more than 52.5 tolas of silver, does that mean that Qurbani is incumbent upon one who has one tola of gold? (2) It may be recommend that the first thing to be eaten on the day of Eid-ul-Adha be the meat of the slaughtered animal, but we usually slaughter big animals of which up to sever people partake in their sacrifice, and the meats is brought home at around 11 or 12 o’clock. In that case, what should be done?
If someone has nothing else but one tola of gold (i.e. he does not have silver, cash or any other Zakatable wealth), then that will not make qurbani incumbent upon him. Also, it is recommended that the first thing to be eaten on the day of Eid-ul-Adha be the meat of the slaughtered animal, not mandatory. If it will take a while for the meat to be brought to one’s home, then other things can also be eaten.
