Method of Giving a Gift

الجوابُ حامِدا ًو مُصلیِّا ً

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
If the questioner wants to gift the mentioned amount of gold to his wife, then in the presence of witnesses, he should make a verbal and written declaration that he has given her full ownership rights to the gold, after which, she must take physical possession of the gold so that the gifting process will be complete and valid as per Shari’ah.

قال رستم باز: تنعقد الہبۃ بالایجاب والقبول، وتتم بالقبض الکامل؛ لأنہا من التبرعات، والتبرع لا یتم إلا بالقبض (شرح المجلۃ: ۱/ ۴۶۲) واللہ الہادی الی الصواب
