Is the ruling regarding cursing different for the general mass, scholars involved in politics and those teaching in madrasa? And what is the ruling regarding those politicians who think it is okay to curse a scholar?

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

It is a major sin for any Muslim to curse (whether he is a scholar, of the general mass, or politician). One who curses is a transgressor and is committing a major sin. Such a person should sincerely repent and seek Allah’s forgiveness and avoid such behavior in future.
