Asalam-o-Alikum, Respected Sir, i want to know about \"Quarbani on EID\", Quarbani kay leya \"sahib-e-Nisab\" ke kiya tareef hay, Please explain in detail. Secondly, I am doing a job and my father is retired from job, what is the criteria for the quarbani for both of us. either one of us perform the quorbani or both has to do it?
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
In order for Qurbani to be mandatory, one must possesses 7.5 Tola of Gold; or 52.5 Tola Silver, or its monetary value; or its value in equipment and things apart from his basic need, such as his house and daily necessities. One possessing this amount of wealth is called a Saheb-e-Nisab (i.e. one possession the amount of wealth that makes him liable of discharging Zakat), and Qurbani and Sadaqatul-Fitr become Wajib upon him. With that being said, if both questioner and his father are Sahib-e-Nisab, then they must both individually perform their own animal sacrifice.
And Allah knows best.
