What does the scholars of Islam say regarding digital pictures?
As long as a digital image has not been printed out, it is not considered as a “Tasweer-e-Muharama” (i.e. such an image that would be considered Haram and unlawful as per Shari'ah), whether it is on a cellphone, computer or television screen. However, if an image consists of anything illegitimate according to the Shari’ah (such as Non-Mahrem women etc.), then just like it is not permissible to view such things externally, it is also not permissible to view them on a digital screen.
And Allah knows best.
