Dear Brother ASSALAM-U-ALAIKUM
I have little confusion about the number of wives our Prophet MUHAMMAD (S.A.W.W) had. Were they 7 or 12?
Khadijah Bint Khuwaylid
Sawdah Bint Zamaah
Aaishah Bint Abi Bakr
Hafsah Bint Omar
Zainab Bint Khuzaymah
Om-salamah , Hind Bint Otbah
Zainab Bint Jahsh
Juwayriyah Bint Alharith
Safiyah Bint Huyay Ibn Akhtab
Ommo Habibah Ramlah Bint Abi Sofian
Maria Bint Shamoun, the Egyptian
Maymonah Bint Alharith
Are the above mentioned names correct?

Through the below-mentioned narration it is clearly understood that the number of holy wives of Rasoolullahi Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam were eleven (11) and out of them two (2), i.e Hadhrath Khadija bint Khuwailid Radhiyallahu Anha and Hadhrath Zainab bint Khuzaima Radhiyallahu Anha had passed away during the life time of Rasoolullahi Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam. And the rest nine (9) of the holy wives , i.e. Hadhrath A’isha Radhiyallahu Anha bint Abi Bakr Radhiyallahu Anhu, Hadhrath Hafsa Radhiyallahu Anha bint Umar Radhiyallahu Anhu, Hadhrath Ummu Habiba Radhiyallahu Anha bint Abi Sufyan Radhiyallahu Anhu, Hadhrath Zainab Radhiyallahu Anha bint Jahsh, Hadhrath Ummu Salama Radhiyallahu Anha bint Abi Umayya, Hadhrat Maimuna Radhiyallahu Anha bint Haris Al Hilaliyya, Hadhrath Sawda Radhiyallahu Anha bint Zumu’a, Hadhrath Juwairiya Radhiyallahu Anha bint Haris Al Musthalaqiya, Hadhrath Safiyya Radhiyallahu Anha bint Huyayyi ibn Akhthab were present at the time of passing away of Nabi Sallallalhu Alaihi wa Sallam (Seerath e Musthafa : v3 p281)
