I wish to remain in I'thikaf during this Ramadhan.

Assalamu Alaikum
I wish to remain in I'thikaf during this Ramadhan. My question is if I get my monthy periods during I'thikaf should I come out or continue with it? If continued, then how? What should I recite during that period? When bleeding stops can I become pure then? Kindly reply me soon. Thank you

الجوابُ حامِدا ًو مُصلیِّا ً

Menstruation during I’thikaf annuls I’thikaf and it is not correct to remain in I’thikaf in that situation. Therefore whenever such a situation confronts, the questioner should come out and make Qadha of a Day’s I’thikaf.

کمافي الهندية:اذا افسد الاعتكاف الواجب وجب قضاءه فان كان اعتكاف شهر بعينه اذا افطر يوما يقضى ذلك ابیوم وان كان اعتکاف شهر بغير عينه يلزمه الاستقبال سواء افسده بصنعه من غير عذر کالخروج والجماع والاكل في النهار أو بعذر كما اذا مرض فاحتاج الى الخروج أو بغير صنعه كالحيض والجنون والاغماء الطويل اھ (1/213) ۔
