What us the status of Shab-e-Bara'at in Islam?

Asslam O Alaikum! Sir, Please help me to clarify the concept of Shaba-e-Barat. I have try to clarify this concept that there is no concept of Shaba-e-Barat in Islam. In Pakistan many people believe in that day and they don't have any reference of Quran or hadith. Please tell me how to rectify their believe? Thank you

الجوابُ حامِدا ًو مُصلیِّا ً

Virtues of the 15th night of Sha'ban which is also known as Shab e Bara'at is recorded in Ahadees e Mubaraka narrated from more than ten Companions and there is no denial in the fact that righteous predecessors individually used to make more Ibadat in this night. However making arrangements in this night to have gatherings in Masjid, decorating Masjid with illuminations etc. are no where established, therefore it is necessary that the enquirer try to prohibit people from engaging in myths and extravaganzas in this night and not to refute the virtues of this night generally.

مأخَذُ الفَتوی

قال اللہ تعالی: {وَلَا تُسْرِفُوا إِنَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُسْرِفِينَ (141) } [الأنعام: 141، 142]
{ إِنَّ الْمُبَذِّرِينَ كَانُوا إِخْوَانَ الشَّيَاطِينِ وَكَانَ الشَّيْطَانُ لِرَبِّهِ كَفُورًا (27) } [الإسراء: 27]
و فی الدر المختار وحاشية ابن عابدين (رد المحتار) : ويكره الاجتماع على إحياء ليلة من هذه الليالي في المساجد(2/ 26)
و فیہ ایضا : (قوله والنصف) أي وإحياء ليلة النصف من شعبان. (2/ 25)
و فی الترغیب: عن عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا قالت قام رسول اللہ ﷺ من اللیل فصلی فاطال السجود حتی ظننت انہ قد قبض۔۔۔۔۔ اتدرین لیلہ ھذہ؟ قلت اللہ و رسولہ اعلم قال ھذہ لیلہ النصف من شعبان (1/119)
