Is there an expiation for falsely swearing while placing one's hand on the Holy Qur'an?

My question is that I had kept my hand on Qur'an Shareef and swore falsely in fear of my wife. I am so ashamed of my this action and now I want to compensate for it. Do I have to pay some Kaffara (fine/penalty) on this or anything else? Please reply soon. Earlier also I had sent email in this connection. Thanks a lot. ALLAH HAFIZ

الجوابُ حامِدا ًو مُصلیِّا ً

It was indeed very sinful for the questioner to falsely swear while placing his hand on the Holy Qur'an. He must sincerely repent and seek Allah's forgiveness for this misdoing. Nonetheless, no compensation in any form is applicable for his action.
