Ruling on Naming a Child “Duha” and “Zimal”

Assalamualaikum,
I would like to ask about the names “Zuha” and “Zimal” for my baby girl who was born on 26th October. Please send me the correct details about their origin, meaning, spelling, and pronunciation.

الجوابُ حامِدا ًو مُصلیِّا ً

In Arabic lexicons, the word “Zamal” (زمل) has various pronunciations and different meanings depending on the vowel marks: “Zamal” (زَمَل) — with za’ and mim both having a fathah (zabar) — means to run leaning to one side or to walk limping. “Zamil” (زَمِل) — with za’ having a fathah (zabar) and mim a kasrah (zer) — means weak or cowardly. “Zumal” (زُمَل) — with za’ having a dammah (pesh) and mim a fathah (zabar) — means mean or cowardly person.
“Ziml” (زِمْل) — with za’ having a kasrah (zer) and mim being sukun — means a person riding behind another on an animal, a load, a weak or lazy person. Therefore, due to the unsuitability of these meanings, it is better to avoid choosing this as a name.
As for the name “Duha” (ضحى), it means forenoon or the time of the rising sun. Based on this meaning, the name is permissible and correct, but it is preferable to name the girl after one of the female companions (Sahabiyyat) or a pious woman of the Ummah.

و فی القاموس الوحید: "زَمَلَ - زَمْلاً و زَمَلَاناً: ایک پہلو پر زور دے کر دوڑنا، ایک اوپر اٹھا کر دوسرے پیر پر دوڑنا ( الی قولہ) الزّامِلُ: پھرتی کی وجہ سے لنگڑا کر چلنے والا چوپایہ۔الزّامِلَةُ: مؤنث.... الزَّامِل بار برداری کا اونٹ وغیرہ۔ ج:زَوَامِل۔( الی قولہ ) الزِّمْلُ: بوجھ۔ زِمْلٌ: پیچھے سوار ہونے والا (ردیف)۔ کمزور اور تھڑدلا۔ سست و کاہل۔ ج: اَزْمَالٌ۔ الزُّمَلُ: بزدل و کمینہ۔" (بابُ الزَاء، ز ___ م، ص:587، ط:ادارہ اسلامیات)۔
