Breaking the fast due to pregnancy

Asslamoalykum, My wife is pregnant of eight months. She is weak and unable to Fast (ROZA).Ramadan is ahead . I need to ask two questions. 1. Is there any Kaffara or fidya for not Fasting in Ramadan? 2. Can we give any fidya? Wasslam Yasir

الجوابُ حامِدا ًو مُصلیِّا ً

If a religious and expert doctor declares that Fasting during pregnancy is harmful for the pregnant woman or the fetus, then it will be permissible to break Fast and make Qadha later. Giving Fidya alone will not be not sufficient.
