If a person bought an animal before Eid with the intention of Qurbani and sold it

If a person bought an animal before Eid with the intention of Qurbani and sold it

Assalamu Alaikum If a person bought an animal (goat) before Eid with the intention of Qurbani and sold it, does Qurbani become Wajib on him and the person concerned is not a Sahib e Nisab?

الجوابُ حامِدا ًو مُصلیِّا ً

Although the purchaser is a Faqeer, Qurbani does not become Wajib if the animal is bought prior to the days of Udh-hiyya even with the intention of Qurbani. Therefore, it is not necessary for such a person to purchase another animal and slaughter it or after the days of Udh-hiyya to give Sadaqa equal to that amount.

ففي حاشية ابن عابدين: ووقع في التتارخانية التعبير بقوله شراها لها أيام النحر، وظاهره أنه لو شراها لها قبلها لا تجب اھ (6/ 321) واللہ اعلم بالصواب!
