Can money be given after the birth of a child instead of performing an Aqeeqa?

Assalamoalaekum
I am liviing in Shenzhen China. Allah has blessed me with a son here. I want to do his Aqiqa, it not convenient to find animal for Zabeeha in normal days. Can I do it in the form of money paid to some reasonable place? What is the amount of money to be paid for it if it is jaiz. Is there any citeria for buying animal for aqiqa. Look forward for your kind guidance.

الجوابُ حامِدا ًو مُصلیِّا ً

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
It is praiseworthy (Mustahab) to do Aqiqa on the 7th, 14th or the 21st day after the birth of a child. This can only be do through an animal sacrifice. If due to whatever inconveniences, one is not capable to perform this animal sacrifice in the said days, then it can be postponed and performed on any day that conforms with the seventh day after the child's birth, or it can be done through a reliable person or institution.
