(1) To what extent is it permissible for parents to supplicate against their children? (2) If parents’ prayer against their children has been accepted due to which the child faces difficulties in this world, then will the child be sinful? (3) Will the parents also be sinful for this?
It is not proper for parents to supplicate against their children for not being of proper service to them or not adhering to their orders. The prohibition of this has been mentioned in Ahadith. If the children are placed in difficulty because of the supplication made against them out of emotion from the parents, then its consequences will fall upon the parents. Even if children are disobedient to their parents and there is also no hope for them changing, parents should not quickly resort to supplicating against them.
